Renovation News
We are under construction! Alpha Christian School is
being renovated. Some repairs have been completed
and others are expected to be completed relatively
soon. Parents and students will be updated about the
progress of the renovations as information is made
available.
Parents and students are being
asked to proceed with caution through areas where
renovations are ongoing. While we
apologize in advance for any inconvenience the
renovation may cause, we are confident that the
changes will bring state of the art enhancements to
our facility and improve our educational offering.
An open house will be held immediately following the
completion of repairs to inform you of the many
enhancements. Thank you in advance for your
cooperation.
Ruby
Lee Thomas Scholarship Awards
Scholarship awards are
available. Parents who requested tuition assistance
by applying for the Ruby Lee Thomas Scholarship may
pick up award letters from Mrs. Flaggs.
Please be advised that the tuition assistance is
being provided in the form of a rate reduction in
tuition costs. Each parent receiving assistance will
be asked to sign a tuition assistance agreement,
which will determine the
amount of assistance provided
to each student and/or family for attendance at
Alpha Christian School for the 2006-2007 school
term. Parents may see Mrs. Flaggs by Monday,
August 28th to sign the tuition agreement.
Please note: Regular tuition rates will apply
until award letters are signed by parents receiving
assistance and returned to Mrs. Flaggs.
Uniform News
The staff at ACS is working diligently to restock
burgundy uniform shirts sizes 4-16. Consideration is
being given to students who are not properly dressed
in ACS uniform attire if students are awaiting
uniform apparel that was previously ordered.
However, all students must be in accordance with the
dress code. The only students who are waiting for
shirts are allowed to wear white polo’s to school.
Please note – your child will be sent home if
proper uniform attire is not worn. Uniforms are
meant to restore a sense of unity to the school
environment. Please assist us by ensuring that your
child is properly dressed in accordance with the
policy.
Boys Grades 9 & 10. In accordance with the
uniform policy, boys in grade 9 & 10 will be
required to wear blazers. Parents who have not paid
for blazers are being asked to begin submitting
payment for the blazers. The cost of the blazer is
$50.00. Blazer fees are due by September 8th.
Blazers are a required part of the school uniform.
These blazers will be worn each Wednesday.
Boys Grades 7-10. Boys in grades 7-10 are
required to wear white dress shirts, burgundy ties
and khaki pants every Wednesday beginning August
30th.
Burgundy ties may be obtained from
Go Young Fashions. Ties obtained from other
merchants are not acceptable.
AS A REMINDER . . . Students
are not required to wear their uniforms on
Friday of each week, unless notified otherwise by
school staff.
After-school Program.
It has come to our attention that many of the
students at ACS have not registered for the
after-school program. Beginning August 28th, if your
child(ren) have not registered for after school
services, you will be charged an additional fee of
($9 per day). To avoid incurring this additional
fee, you may pick your child up by 3:00 p.m. each
day.
Generations Assisting Parents or the
G.A.P. program is a mentoring program which
offers after-school services free of charge for
students in grades 4th -8th.
Parents interested in signing their children up for
this free service must have completed a G.A.P.
after-school application. These applications may be
obtained from the staff at the information desk.
Failure to complete the application will cause
regular daily charges to incur each day at a rate of
$9 per day for attendance at after-school.
